Ara: H.D. Jain College principal Shailendra Ojha apprehended a threat to his life and blamed the college student union president Drishti Raj for threatening him with dire consequences.

Ojha said activists of the All India Students' Union (AISA), led by the students' union president Drishti Raj had entered his chamber and used filthy language and threatened him with dire consequences. He said staff council members condemned the students' behaviour and decided to initate action after taking legal advice. He said he has requested the vice-chancellor of Veer Kuer Singh University, Nand Kishor Sah, to dissolve the students' union after completion of its tenure. He said he would write to the chancellor-cum-Governor Lala Ji Tandon and the VC in this regard.

The principal said AISA had called for an indefinite lock-up in the college from September 6. The Bhojpur superintendent of police (SP) and the district magistrate (DM) are being requested in writing to deploy police force to keep the peace.

Students' union president Drishti Raj said a delegation of students had met the principal regarding irregularities in the admission process but the principal ordered them to get out. He misbehaved with the students leaders and a video of it has gone viral, infuriating the principal further.

This is why he has started levelling "irrelevant" charges against the students, she said.
