Darbhanga, Nov. 5: There is good news for retired employees of Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga.

The varsity is taking steps to ensure timely and regular payment of pension of the 2,700 retired employees.

As things stand now, the retired officials get their pension after a gap of three-four months causing them immense hardship.

LNMU vice-chancellor Saket Kushwaha is in the process of setting up LNMU corpus fund with the initial amount of Rs 25 crore. The varsity has arranged this amount with its internal resources.

Kushwaha said: “We are in the process of creating a special fund that would bear the burden of pension till the new allotment comes from the government. We have already made the by-laws of the corpus fund for the purpose for which we would get the approval from the state government within a fortnight.”
