Patna, Sept. 26: Nishad Vikas Sangh president Mukesh Sahni today withdrew support from the Grand Alliance alleging that chief minister Nitish Kumar and RJD chief Lalu Prasad had ditched his community for vested interests.

Ten days back, he had met Nitish and on the same day he had announced to extend his support to the Grand Alliance.

Before extending his support to Nitish, he had met BJP national president Amit Shah in New Delhi, too.

"Both Nitish and Lalu have cheated our community and now our community will work to ensure their defeat in the Assembly elections. I also announce the withdrawal of support to the Grand Alliance. Nitish had promised to allot 15 seats to our community and that's why I had extended my support. However, he has given only seven seats to our community. On the other hand, the NDA has given 12 seats to the people of our community, said Mukesh.

Mukesh added that his community would not tolerate the humiliation.

"According to the population of the EBCs, the Grand Alliance should have given tickets to at least 75 candidates. However, Nitish and Lalu gave tickets to only 20 EBC candidates," he said.

After withdrawing his support from the Grand Alliance, Mukesh hardly has any alternative except going with the so-called Third Front headed by the Samajwadi Party (SP).

Sharing his next action plan, Mukesh said: "On September 30, I will announce my strategy after discussion with my people."

The JDU, on other hand, slammed Mukesh and dubbed him opportunistic. "He is uttering lies, the JDU has given tickets to 11 people from the Nishad community and the RJD has given three," said Dal spokesperson Ajay Alok.
