Body found in coach

Patna: The police on Tuesday recovered the body of a youth from one of the compartments of Magadh Express. he body was recovered from a sleeper compartment when the train halted at Rajender Nagar Terminal Yard in Lohanipur. The body has been sent for post-mortem, police informed.

Amartya visit

Patna: Nobel laureate Amartya Sen would visit Patna on a three-day tour, beginning July 5. Sen would deliver a lecture on July 5 on elementary schooling in India.

Court notice

Patna: A division bench of Justice S.K. Katriar and Justice A.K. Lal of high court on Tuesday asked the Patna Municipal Corporation and urban development department to file their replies in four weeks on a PIL seeking improvement in the condition of Sulabh Shouchalaya (public toilets).

Pollution

Patna: A division bench of Patna High Court on Tuesday asked the state government to file its reply on a PIL by one Brij Bihari Gupta, seeking directions to check the pollution created during stone crushing in Rohtas district.

DM order

Patna: Patna district magistrate Sanjay Singh on Tuesday directed all block development officers of the district to send all schoolteachers, who have been deputed somewhere else, back to their respective schools. Singh said action would be taken against BDOs who would fail to implement this directive within two days.

Patna: Alphabets, an organisation working for education of underprivileged children, would organise Renaissance and Alphabets Run for Education Marathon in Patna on June 26.

Patna: Special CBI judge Bashishth Narayan Singh on Tuesday framed charges against S.K. Tiwary, former assistant administrative officer of National Insurance Company, Sasaram, in connection with misappropriation of fund.
