Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco) got the national award from President Ram Nath Kovind for promoting sports through corporate social responsibility (CSR) in New Delhi on Tuesday. Idco chairman-cum-managing director Sanjay Kumar Singh received the award on behalf of the organisation. A 1997-batch Odisha cadre IAS officer, Singh is a native of Bihar. He has also served as district magistrate of Gaya and Patna and as secretary to the Bihar chief minister. After taking charge of Idco two years ago, Singh made special efforts to promote hockey through the corporation’s CSR initiative. On the award to his organisation, Singh told The Telegraph: “The award is a recognition of team Idco’s efforts to promote and patronise sports.”
Singh said he was happy at his efforts getting recognised at the highest level.
