Patna: Patna mayor Sita Sahu on Saturday lodged an FIR at Alamganj police station citing that some squatters, whose establishments were removed during anti-encroachment drive, created ruckus outside her residence at Maharajganj in Patna City on Friday night and also fired a round.
Sahu has named Divya Sundaram (a resident of Malya Mahadev Mandir Road), Arun Kumar (a resident of Meena Bazar Lane) and Chhotan Gop, (a resident of Bari Patandevi Road), as accused in the FIR lodged at Alamganj police station.
The FIR states Arun and Chhotan were using slangs against Sahu and her son Shishir Kumar outside Sahu's house on Friday night and that Arun whipped out a pistol and fired a round with that. The FIR mentions that both the accused were claiming that the mayor had got the encroachment removed near Shaym Benson situated at Pahari four-lane and they also threatened that if Sreechand Banquet Hall (which belongs to one Divya Sundaram) at Jalla Road and a house situated alongside it (which belongs to Arun Kumar) is demolished, then the mayor should be ready to face consequences. According to the FIR, Divya Sundaram happens to be the mastermind of the incident.
Sahu said encroachers whom she had accused in the FIR, were of the opinion that whatever anti-encroachment drive was being conducted in the state capital, was happening on the order of the mayor. "I hope legal action is taken against people involved in the incident," she said.
The executive officer of Patna City circle of PMC, Sushil Kumar Mishra, said on Friday, a hotel was demolished on the Pahari-four-lane which had illegally come up on government land. Mishra said he was unaware of the firing outside the mayor's house.
Anti-encroach drive
The anti-encroachment drive was conducted from Dakbungalow roundabout to Station Road Golambar and Dakbungalow roundabout to hotel Maurya in the New Capital circle. An FIR was also lodged against the Dry & Fry outlet owner for conducting business in an illegal establishment near Dakbungalow roundabout. Encroachers were also removed outside Sultan Palace. District magistrate Kumar Ravi collected fines from around 25 vehicle owners who had illegally parked their vehicle from Fraser Road to Exhibition Road, said New Capital circle executive officer Shailesh Kumar.
Patna City circle executive officer Sushil Kumar Mishra said the eviction drive was conducted on NH-30 towards the southward direction.
