Hundreds of important questions went unanswered after BJP members created unruly scenes in the Assembly for the second day on Thursday over a state minister's purported action of inciting people to hit Prime Minister Narendra Modi's photo with shoes.

As the House assembled for the day, the BJP members trooped into the Well demanding the dismissal of excise and prohibition minister Abdul Jalil Mastan for using "abusive" language against the Prime Minister. Unable to restore order in the House, Speaker Vijay Kumar Choudhary adjourned the question hour. In the process, members cutting across party lines, could not get the answers of nearly 160 questions listed in the order paper today.

"The BJP members are least bothered about why people have elected them. They were not concerned about the questions they themselves had got listed," finance minister Abdul Bari Siddiqui said outside the House.

The first question that went unanswered was related to bamboo farmers in north Bihar's East Champaran. The question was why the bamboo-producing East Champaran district had not been inducted in the National Bamboo Mission. The district's induction in the National Bamboo Mission would have paved the way for more profit to the bamboo farmers against their produce.

Another question was related to a few criminals blocking the entry and exit routes of an upgraded middle school in a Mahadalit settlement of Shivrajpur panchayat in West Champaran.

"Had the question been taken up, the route of the school in the poor people's settlement would have been liberated from the clutches of the criminals," a ruling party member said.

A question was related to the appointment of Kisan Mitra (farmers' friend). "The basic qualification to be appointed as farmers' friend is Intermediate. They hardly know anything about agriculture and family. Does the government have plans to train the kisan mitras so that they could help farmers in the desired manner?" a member sought to know.

Another question was related to encroachment of acres of public land in Bhagalpur. The question sought to know what the government was doing to remove encroachment on 35 acres of public land at Dipnagar and 10 acres in Kathgar of Bhagalpur.

A question also dealt with flower farming in Purnea of Seemanchal region. Flower farming is being done over 100 acres of land in Purnea. The question sought to know if the government had any plan to encourage flower farming or provide grants to such farmers. Hundreds of youths of the district were into flower farming, the question said.

There was a question related to alleged failure of the government to open a paddy procurement centre at Turkaulia block in East Champaran.

The question related to how the farmers were unable to sell their wares because of absence of the paddy procurement centre and sought to know when the government was going to open the same at Turkaulia.

A question was also slated to be asked on the disappearance of indigenous fish.

"Sitamarhi is among the many other north Bihar districts from which indigenous fish such as kotra, bami, pothia and rehu have disappeared. It is because of the government's promotion of imported breeds of fish. Does the government have any plan to save the indigenous fish from extinction and on how to conserve them?" the question sought to know.

There was a question related to the water level dipping during the summers in south Bihar's Aurangabad district. It pointed out that the people in Aurangabad were to suffer badly during the upcoming summer because of low water level in Aurangabad's hinterlands.

"What is the government doing to ensure drinking water to the people in the plateau district," it sought to know.
