Gopalganj, June 3: RJD chief Lalu Prasad is not happy with the investigation launched by the state police into the murder of former Ranvir Sena head Brahmeshwar Singh “Mukhiya”.

“The state government has constituted an inquiry team under a deputy inspector-general-rank officer. It is just eyewash,” Lalu said, adding that a CBI inquiry should be carried out into the killing.

Taking a dig at journalists, Lalu said: “The media has been shielding Nitish in a wrong way. This should not be done.”

Slamming the Nitish-led NDA government further, Lalu said: “The state government has deviated from Raj Dharma (state’s responsibilities). Criminals are being patronised. Cases of loot, murder, kidnapping and extortion have registered unprecedented growth.”

Lalu also visited the house of slain liquor trader Anil Kumar Sah at Manichaper village under Hathua police station about 25km from the district headquarters today morning and spoke with the deceased’s family. Lalu later addressed a public gathering and alleged that at the instance of Nitish, the police are shirking the arrest of the JD(U) MLA from Kuchaikot, Amarendra Pandey, an accused in the Anil Sah murder case.

The RJD chief also claimed that Nitish never visits the spots from where murder or violence cases are reported. He said the chief minister mostly remains busy with his Seva Yatra and behaves like religious gurus while embarking on his yatras. “Nitish has been exposed. People are making up their mind to get rid of him,” he said.

Subhas Sah, the uncle of Anil Sah, said his family was fearing more violence.
