Patna, July 28: Bindu Singh, a ganglord jailed at Beur Central Jail, had planned yesterday’s attack on jailor Amarjeet Singh, police said today.

The police got the lead while interrogating Dipak Dayal and Santu, arrested in Patna last evening. Their third accomplice, Chhotu, was nabbed this evening.

Sources said both Dipak and Santu told the police that they carried out the operation at the behest of Bindu Singh, who is presently lodged at Beur jail. “Bindu provided us the firearms too,” Dipak reportedly said. Though the jailor survived the attack, a minor boy Anil sustained bullet injury in his left leg.

“Dipak said Bindu called him up around 9am, apparently upset over the seizure of his cellphone by jail officials on Thursday, and told him to attack jail officials. The jailor just happened to step out when the trio were waiting and became the target,” an officer quoted Dipak as saying.
