Over 250 students of the Women's Training College's BEd department took part in an awareness programme organised by the Red Ribbon Club of Bihar under the aegis of Bihar State AIDS Control Society (BSACS) on Thursday.
Highlighting the problems, precautions and awareness about HIV, BSACS deputy director Alok Kumar said: 'HIV-AIDS programmes have a bilateral intervention approach - to create awareness and to prevent further HIV infections and to provide care and treatment and help those infected to remain healthy for as long as possible. Many people unaware about AIDS are treated like second-class citizens. But AIDS is not an infectious disease.'
