Patna, March 10: Hasan Ali Khan, the stud farm owner facing charges of money laundering and tax evasion, had got his passport issued from Patna on April 10, 1997, police sources told The Telegraph today.

Higher-ups in the city police said on condition of anonymity that Ali had applied for a passport from the city which was issued by the regional passport office here after full police verification. A CBI team investigating Ali had recently travelled to Patna after it was disclosed that the address mentioned in Ali’s passport was false.

Patna senior superintendent of police Alok Kumar said Hasan had only applied for a passport from Patna but the document had not been issued to him.

“On December 19 last year, the regional passport office in Patna had lodged an FIR against him on grounds of having furnished wrong information and withholding information about already possessing a passport earlier. He had furnished the local address of Pathantoli in the Alamganj police station area, while the permanent address was put down as Belsand in Sitamarhi district,” Kumar said.

Hasan first got a passport issued from Hyderabad in 1986 by furnishing a Banjara Hills address.

In 2003, he got a passport issued from London after stating that his earlier passport had been stolen.

Again, in 2005, he got a passport issued from Pune by furnishing the same excuse, Kumar said.

The SSP added that Ali had applied for passports from Mumbai, Chandigarh, Guwahati and Patna.

However, sources told The Telegraph that Ali’s passport had already been issued.
