Govt drops charge

Patna: The state government on Thursday withdrew departmental proceedings initiated against then DSP of Secretariat in Patna Manish Kumar, who was accused of entering the girls' hostel of Katihar Medical College without women constables.

Kumar had allegedly entered the hostel to carry out a search in connection with a case lodged at the Shastrinagar police station in Patna against the director of the medical college Asfaq Karim in 2013.

Arrest

Patna: Bhojpur police arrested seven persons, including three sharpshooters, from Siwan for their involvement in the murder of a trader Krishna Singh on Sunday.

Subsidy

Patna: Sudhir Kumar, principal secretary, agriculture on Thursday said the state government will provide diesel subsidies to farmers for the kharif 2017 season keeping in view the drought-like situation in the state.

Slur at Lalu

Patna: JDU Rajya Sabha member RCP Singh on Thursday, alluding to Sushil Modi's assets charges at Lalu Prasad, said chief minister Nitish Kumar considers the state as a family member and never made any property in the name of his family members.

Special trains

Patna: The East Central Railway on Thursday announced to run Shravan special train for Deoghar from Patna, Gaya, Jainagar and Raxaul starting from July 9, 2017. One more train has been announced from Saharsha to Bhagalpur to cater to needs of devotees during Sawan.
