Two FIRs have been lodged against as many private agencies, engaged with Anugrah Narayan Medical College and Hopsital (ANMCH) to look after its computer operation and sanitation, on the charge of fraudulently withdrawing funds from the health hub.
The cases were lodged against the two outsourcing agencies on Monday following an inspection of the hospital by a team of 10 senior officers, led by Magadh divisional commissioner-cum-ANMCH patients’ welfare committee president Vivek Kumar Singh and Gaya district magistrate-cum-patients’ welfare committee vice-president Bandana Preyashi on March 3, sources said.
Additional district magistrate (ADM) Uday Kumar lodged an FIR against RGF, a private agency working on outsourcing basis in the field of computer operation.
According to the FIR lodged with the Magadh Medical police station, the agency had appointed 20 computer operators but withdrew payment for 40 people. The FIR added that this was going on for about a year.
In his report, the Magadh division commissioner, Singh, said one computer each had been installed in the matron’s office, blood bank, clinical pathology, medicine, ear-nose-throat (ENT), outpatient registration, ophthalmology, anaesthesia and gynaecology departments, the central record and CT scan rooms and two in the store of the hospital.
During inspection, computer operators (clinical pathology) Rajiv Ranjan and Sonika Kumari (medicine), Julie Kumari (ENT outpatient department), Rahul Kumar (ophthalmology) and Priyakna Kumari (CT scan) were found absent from duty.
Computer operators Rekha Kumari (matron’s office), Saurabh Kumar (OPD registration) and Om Prakash (central record room) joined duty after being informed about the inspection.
Two operators, Subrato Ganguly and Mohammed Sharik (store), were on leave to appear for examinations, while Upma Kumari (blood bank) has left the job.
On the other hand, senior deputy collector Prabhat Kumar Jha has lodged another FIR with the Magadh Medical police station against KK Enterprises, involved in sanitation work on the ANMCH campus.
Jha alleged in his report that the agency had withdrawn payment for 69 people even as 35 personnel were appointed for the task.
