Patna, Feb. 2: College2Campus, a Dhanbad-based admission consultant, arrived in the state capital today with its two-day-long management fair. While some of the 200 students who turned up at the fair were satisfied, others were far from being impressed with what was on offer.
Marketing officers and faculty members from 52 management schools in the country, who put up stalls at the planetarium, stood ready to clear doubts of the management aspirants. Details of placement opportunities and hostel facilities were attended to, while some institute representatives helped out students with details on transport.
A faculty member of Guruvayurappan Institute of Management, Coimbatore, Debjeet Sarkar, has been attending such education fairs for 16 years.
He said: “I know what kind of questions students have at such fairs. So I tried to provide them with all information. Their main queries were on the institute’s fee structure, placement offers and hostel facilities. I also told them about the trains they could take from home to reach the college.”
Neha Prasad, a final-year bachelor of business administration student of BN College, said: “The fee structure does not matter as much as the reputation of an institution. I am also finding out if the colleges have All India Council of Technical Education approval.”
College2Campus director Praveen Pandey said: “We received a footfall of around 200 students in the first two hours of the fair (it started at 11am). Aegis Global Academy, Mum-bai, Quantum School of Bus-iness, Dehradun, Era Business School, New Delhi and SB Group of Education Institute, Bangalore, are some of the institutions taking part in the sixth edition of the fair.”
Some students were disappointed with missing out on some of their favourite colleges. Management aspirant Chandan Kumar said: “ITM College, Navi Mumbai and IMS, Ghaziabad, are reputed management institutions. I am disappointed they are not at the fair.”
