Patna: Dreaded Maoist Pramod Tiwari, who laid down arms six years ago, wants to pursue higher education and has sought the help of the Rohtas police.
Pramod also known as Nakhroo had surrendered with eight other Maoists before then Rohtas superintendent of police Manu Maharaaj in July 2012. Incumbent Rohtas superintendent of police Satyaveer Singh said on Tuesday that the district police would lend their support to Pramod, who couldn't get benefits of government policy for rehabilitation of Maoists.
"Since he (Pramod) has wished to continue his higher education and do some business to make himself self-reliant, the district police will leave no stone unturned to support him," Satyaveer, a 2008-batch IPS officer, said over phone.
Pramod, 20, had cleared his secondary examination from a government school at his native village. In-charge of Bal Dusta (child squad) of the banned outfit, Pramod was only 13 when he had surrendered.
Satyaveer took the initiative to trace the 45-odd Maoists who had surrendered in the district between 2011 and 2012.
