'Dead' girl calls up family

Anita (name changed), who died in Patna Medical College and Hospital on Saturday, surfaced in Dhanbad the same day, puzzling police and her family members.

Gaya: Anita (name changed), who died in Patna Medical College and Hospital on Saturday, surfaced in Dhanbad the same day, puzzling police and her family members.

On April 10, a girl with knife injuries was found almost dead in Madanpur police station area of Aurangabad district. The previous day, a missing person's report had been lodged at Dobhi police station about a girl with similar featuresrecovered from Madanpur was found to be breathing and as such she following which the family abandoned the "dead Anita"<> following which the family, who got the girl treated at PMCH, disowned the body. The ANMCH mortuary will store the body for 72 hours before it is cremated as an "anonymous corpse". Gaya SSP Garima Malik said a police team had been sent to Dhanbad to locate the girl claiming to be the "real Anita".

The cops will seek the court's permission to collect the DNA samples of the body lying in the mortuary, the girl claiming to be the "real Anita" and family members of the Dobhi girl.
