Muzaffarpur, July 25: Three armed persons looted Rs 5 lakh at gunpoint from a trader at Ejazi Lane under Town police station this afternoon.

The victim, Mohammad Dilshad, was on his way to deposit the money at the branch of the United Commercial Bank on Jawaharlal Road on his bike. The criminals intercepted him at Ejazi and snatched the money.

Assistant superintendent of police (city) Vikas Varman said raids were on to nab the criminals. Traders at Islampur, where Dilshad owns a shop, downed shutters in protest against the daylight loot.
