Patna: A 13-year-old girl is struggling for her life after being raped by a cousin in Bhojpur district on Thursday night. The girl, who allegedly attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison in utter shock, has been admitted to the Ara Sadar hospital in a serious condition.

Her father told the police that the accused, identified as Mohammad Firoz, lured the girl and took her to his house. Finding her alone, Firoz raped the girl and fled from the spot leaving her bleeding profusely. The girl became unconscious following the incident.

On Friday, the girl was admitted to the local sadar hospital and subsequently her medical examination was conducted.

"The girl is not in a condition to speak. She is not only in utter shock but also her condition is stated to be serious," said a police officer posted at the Nawada police station in Bhojpur district.

In another incident, a 21-year-old physically disabled girl was gang raped by four youths in Purnea district on Thursday night.

The victim was referred to the Bhagalpur based hospital on Saturday after hercondition deteriorated on Saturday.

Vijendra Yadav, a sub-inspector of police posted at the Kasba police station under whose jurisdiction the site of occurrence falls, said the girl was rushed to the Purnea sadar hospital from where she was later referred to Bhagalpur for better treatment.

The girl's mother alleged that her daughter was kidnapped from her house when she was asleep on Thursday night.

The tormentors took her to a nearby sugarcane field and raped her. She was found unconscious in the field the next morning.
