Antarjyoti Balika Vidyalaya students perform jhijhia at Jalsa 2012, a cultural programme, organised at Patna Museum on Sunday. Around 30 visually impaired students of the Kumhrar school performed at the event that was conceptualised by Wah Zindagi, a group of 10 Patna-based journalists. The programme started with the welcome song, Swagat aaj tumhara. The children also performed jhumar. Abhishek Kumar, one of the organisers, said: “The purpose of the programme was to bring out the talents of visually impaired children before others, who usually have reservations that the visually impaired cannot do a few things. We have broken the myth to some extent with this event.” More than 100 people, including Kilkari Bihar Bal Bhavan director Jyoti Parihar and social activist Anil Sulabh, attended the programme.
