The Central Board of Secondary Education is yet to provide succesful Class X students with the continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE) certificates even after one-and-a-half months of the announcement of results.

The results were declared on May 24 this year.

Ritesh Singh, a Class X passout who wants to shift to an ISC school at the Plus Two level, said: “I need to produce my CCE certificate but am not getting it from my school.”

“Every now and then, the students are asking when would they get their CCE certificates. Earlier, the CBSE regional office had told the students that they would get the certificates by the end of June,” a principal of a school told The Telegraph on question of anonymity.

“Several students think we have not collected the documents from the CBSE regional office,” he added.

L.L. Meena, the assistant secretary of CBSE Patna regional office, told The Telegraph: “It takes time to print the CCE certificates. It’s big in size (A3) and has all the details regarding a student’s performance. This is done at our head office in Delhi. We have heard that printing has been started and the certificates will arrive soon. As soon as the certificates arrive, we will issue them to the schools.”

The CBSE official, however, was not aware that how much time it would take for the certificates to come.

Last month, CBSE Patna regional officer S.U. Sorte had told The Telegraph that it would come by June-end. Sorte was not available for comment on Thursday.

Another school principal said: “There can be nothing worse than this. Students not being provided with CCE certificates after one-and-a half-months of the examination cannot be justified. The examinations were held on time. What’s the use if the students do not get these documents on time? What will be the importance of the results if the students do not get the certificate on time?”

A school director, who also agreed to talk on the condition of anonymity, said: “We have to face queries on a daily basis from guardians and students. They come to us demanding the CCE certificates and we are left with no answers. Schools and colleges affiliated with other boards are asking the students for the certificates.”
