Seminar on suicide

The psychology department of Magadh Mahila College organised a seminar and poster making competition on the theme 'Increase in the incidents of suicide' on Thursday.

Manoranjan Prasad, a former professor of Central Institute of Psychiatric, Ranchi, and Jai Mangal Deo, a professor of the psychology department at Magadh University, were the key speakers.

Manoranjan said: 'Depression and anxiety are prevalent problems among college students. If students do not feel prepared to cope with the new environment of a college campus, they could easily become susceptible to depression and anxiety.'

Talks on energy

Swara Bhaskar, a Bollywood actor, was in town to unveil the people's manifesto of Centre for Environment and Energy Development(CEED) on Thursday.

Rampati Kumar, CEO of CEED, said: 'A growing Bihar is looking for a strong leadership that can bring the structural reform and revamp the energy policy and embrace the strong decentralised renewable policy. Swara Bhaskar said: 'Use of renewable energy leads to a cleaner environment.'
