Union official visits health hub
Patna: S.K. Nayak, the joint secretary, Union ministry of health and family welfare, on Monday visited AIIMS-Patna and took stock of the construction going at the premiere health hub. IIMS-Patna sources said it was a formal visit and the faculty members shared their problems with Nayak in a confidential meeting. One of the demands of the faculty members was to give permission to attend conferences in other medical colleges of the country. The faculty members of AIIMS- Patna also raised the issue of the recruitment of the rest of the faculty members as soon as possible. Nayak assured them that their demands would be fulfilled. Sources said Nayak visited AIIMS-Patna around three months ago. Patna: Additional secretary of the state urban development and housing department in a letter issued to the Patna Municipal commissioner on Tuesday asked for details regarding court rooms, office and vehicles among others for the building tribunals to be formed on the directives of Patna High Court. The commissioner was asked to furnish the details by Wednesday. The next hearing in the case is slated on Thursday. Patna: The additional secretary of state urban development and housing department in a letter issued to Patna Municipal commissioner Kuldip Narayan on Tuesday asked him to appoint engineers on contract basis to expedite the crackdown on the illegal building construction in the city. Patna: The speaker of the Assembly Uday Narayan Choudhary appealed to people to restrict the number of their children to two at a function jointly organised by the Assembly and UNICEF in Imamganj, Gaya on Wednesday. Choudhary stressed the need for health and stop child marriages in rural areas. Patna: Students of self-financing course (vocational course) of Patna University on Wednesday staged a protest on the main administrative campus. The students staged a protest demanding the nod for semester system from Raj Bhavan. Patna: The Lok Janshakti Party would celebrate its 14th foundation day celebration at SK Memorial hall on Thursday. The function would be addressed by the party national president Ram Vilas Paswan, parliamentary board chairman Chirag Paswan and others. Patna: Nalanda University vice-chancellor Gopa Sabarwal and member secretary Ashok Kumar Kan th on Wednesday met education minister P.K. Shahi and apprised him about the progress in the varsity. The two visiting guests also sought cooperation from the state government to start the university soon. Patna: The third day of the six-day workshop at Arvind Mahila College witnessed personality development class for the students and lecture on winning negotiations for the teachers and non-teaching staff.
