The Canara Bank on Wednesday opened a new branch at Mithapur in Patna.
The new outlet is the bank’s 19th branch in the city. With its presence at Mithapur, the number of branches of the bank in the state reached 124.
Inaugurating the new branch, vice-chancellor of Aryabhatt Knowledge University S.N. Guha appreciated the bank’s decision to open a new branch in the city and wished for the bank’s continuous growth and development.
While delivering the welcome address, the Canara Bank’s deputy general manager and circle head of Patna, G.S. Unnithan spoke at length on the bank’s performance since its foundation 106 years ago.
He said apart from opening new branches, the bank was also increasing its reach on the service delivery front by opening new ATM kiosks. At present, there are 50 such counters in the state.
The bank also honoured educationist D.K. Mukherjee and offered financial grants to Shovona Educational and Cultural Society run by him.
