Patna: Special vigilance judge Madhukar Kumar on Tuesday rejected the anticipatory bail of Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH)'s former deputy superintendent Ganesh Prasad in connection with the medicine scam.
The scam was allegedly perpetrated from 2006 to 2008 while the first FIR was lodged in October last year. Former PMCH superintendent O.P. Choudhary is also an accused.
Choudhary and other distributors (proprietors) were accused of conducting financial irregularities worth several crores while buying medicines and other equipments for the hospital. Former deputy superintendent Ganesh was the officer in-charge of the medicine storage facility at PMCH from September 2007 to March 2013 when the medicines were purchased at higher rates than the printed maximum retail price.
Ganesh is also accused in the drug scam at PMCH being probed by the vigilance department.
