A Swift lost control while trying to save a couple on a bike but ended up hitting the two-wheeler and a rickshaw near Tollygunge Karunamoyee on Tuesday morning.
The couple and the rickshaw-puller were taken to MR Bangur Hospital, from where they were discharged after treatment, an officer of Regent Park police station said.

Abhinandan Basu, 29, who was driving the Swift, and Bishwanath Roy, the biker, have been arrested. A case under IPC sections 279 and 337 - negligent driving and causing hurt, both bailable offences - has been slapped on the two.
The accident occurred at the crossing of Uttam Kumar Sarani and MN Sen Lane, opposite the ST6 bus stop and around 100m from the Japanese consulate.
The area, including the Karunamoyee bridge, often witnesses long snarls and frequent traffic rule violations.
Roy took a sudden right turn to enter MN Sen Lane after crossing the Karunamoyee bridge around 9.50am when the accident occurred.
The Swift was coming from the opposite direction at a fairly high speed, witnesses said. "The car driver seems to have been puzzled by the biker's sudden right turn," said Ashim Das, the owner of a parking lot who saw the accident.
The driver braked but not before hitting the bike and a rickshaw. Roy fractured his left arm, while his wife, who was riding pillion, suffered minor injuries. The rickshaw-puller, Ashok Maity, suffered hand and leg injuries.
The car and the two-wheeler have been seized.
Residents of the area alleged that policing on the stretch where the accident occurred was always lax.
"Office hours see a mad rush but there is hardly a traffic guard in the area," said Shakib Alam.
"During rush hours bikes often jump flanks to avoid snarls. There are no policemen to stop them," said a tea stall owner.
