Parking rules on Test days

Police have announced parking arrangements around the Eden Gardens for the India-West Indies Test starting Wednesday. The Chhath festival from November 6 to 9 was also kept in mind while making the schedule.

Separate parking arrangements have been made for private vehicles with or without parking stickers issued by the traffic guards or the office of the deputy commissioner of police (traffic) in Lalbazar.

Public vehicles will be allowed till the Dorina crossing, Curzon Park and the Mayo Road- Red Road intersection.

Vehicles with parking stickers

● Cars with green stickers can park opposite the Eden Club House on all days of the match.

● Cars with pink stickers can park to the north of the Mohammedan Sporting ground, behind the Cenotaph, on all match days.

● Cars with yellow stickers can park to the south of the Mohun Bagan ground and north of Vijay Smarak on all days except November 8.

● Cars with blue stickers can park to the south of the basketball ground on all days except November 8.

● Cars with red stickers can park on Strand Road/Band Stand on all days expect November 8.

● Cars with yellow, blue and red stickers will not be allowed on November 8. Instead, the spectators using them will have to display brown stickers (which will be issued along with the stickers of those three colours) and park the cars on Rangers Club ground and Judo Club ground

Two-wheelers

Two-wheelers can be parked to the south of the Mohammedan Sporting ground and Strand Road, near Band Stand, on all days expect November 8. On that day, the parking lot will be shifted to Rangers Club ground and Judo Club ground.

Vehicles without stickers

Cars without stickers can be parked on a first-come-first-served basis on the Rangers Club ground and Judo Club ground on all days.

No Parking zone

Parking will not be allowed on the following roads as and when necessary

  • Kingsway
  • Auckland Road
  • Government Place East
  • Rani Rashmoni Avenue
  • Old Court House Street
  • Red Road
  • Mayo Road
  • Dufferin Road
