Nadda on Sunday had a video conference with the members of Assam BJP’s core committee on the political situation of the state along with the state’s measures to combat Covid-19 pandemic.

In the meeting, Nadda asked the state BJP to assess performance of the MLAs.

“Since only around eight to nine months are left for the Assembly polls, he (Nadda) suggested to assess the 126 constituencies and prepare reports on performance of the BJP MLAs. He also asked to study the performance of the MLAs of our alliance partners,” Dass said.

The party launched a website www.mlareportcard.in and released a number 8011126043 where, if connected, a person will get automated message to report the MLA of his or her constituency. People will be able to send report on their MLAs through the website or WhatsApp number.

Dass said besides their own MLAs, the party will seek report cards on non-BJP MLAs also which will help it take decisions in the future. He said the reports will be submitted to Nadda.

Siladitya allegation: Dass on Monday said the party had a meeting on some allegation made by its Hojai MLA Shiladitya Dev recently. He said besides him, chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and North East Democratic Alliance (Neda) convener Himanta Bis-wa Sarma were among others who had attended the meeting.

Dev recently took the party by surprise by raising an allegation against a BJP leader. Without naming the person, Dev said the person used to phone police to release seized trucks or arrested people.

“We have asked our general secretary and MP Dilip Saikia to look into the matter. He has already talked to Dev.”

Dass said if Dev had any information about syndicate or illegal business in his constituency he should have informed the matter to Sonowal, to him (Dass) as party president and then filed an FIR.
