Calcutta: Committed to ensuring a fair and clean tournament, Football Sports Development Limited — promoter of the Indian Super League (ISL) — announced that the third season of the competition will be overseen by Sportradar’s Integrity Services who will monitor international betting markets for suspicious betting and assist in any potential investigation work.
The ISL kicks off from October 1 as eight teams will battle it out for two months before the decider on December 18.
“The Indian Super League continues to go from strength to strength and by bringing Sportradar on board, we have highlighted our commitment to the integrity of our league and we look forward to another exciting competition,” an ISL spokesperson was quoted as saying.
Sportradar Integrity Services have partnerships with some of the world’s key football stakeholders, such as Uefa, AFC, Concacaf, MLS, Federacao Paulista de Futebol as well as the ISL. Altogether, Sportradar monitors over 230 football leagues and competitions worldwide.
Meanwhile, Kerala Blasters unveiled their team for the third ISL at a star-studded function in Kochi in the presence of Sachin Tendulkar, Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna among others.
The Blasters have made significant changes to the team which has Stephen Coppell, a former Manchester United veteran, as its coach. The team has an impressive line-up of 27 footballers including star marquee player Aaron Hughes, defender Cedric Hengbart and goalkeeper Graham Stack.
