Bhubaneswar, Sept. 11: Mahila police today registered a case against a youth for circulating nude MMS clips of a minor girl, a day after Nayapalli police arrested an employee of a Bangalore-based private company from the city on allegations of sexually exploiting a young girl.
Mahila police are searching for the 20-year-old suspect, Kulu Moharana, who is a carpenter. The police said Moharana, a native of Kumudiha village in Lingaraj police limits, befriended the Class IX girl and established a physical relationship with her after making a false promise of marriage.
According to the complaints lodged by the 14-year-old victim, Moharana had video recorded sexual acts with the girl at the foothills of Dhauli. He then circulated the videos through multimedia messaging service (MMS), a system that enables mobile phones to send and receive pictures and sound clips as well as text messages.
“He had promised to marry me. He forcibly had physical relationship with me and then circulated the videos,” said the victim, who was medically examined by the Mahila police today.
Assistant commissioner of police Nihar Das said a case had been registered based on the girl’s complaint. “We have launched a manhunt to nab the suspect,” said Das.
Yesterday, the Nayapalli police had arrested Susil Kumar Dalei for cheating a city student after entering into a physical relationship with her on the promise of marriage. He had uploaded the videos of their sexual acts on the Internet.
