Bhubaneswar, June 10: Two universities in the twin cities — Utkal University in Bhubaneswar and Ravenshaw in Cuttack — are gearing up for the new admission session for various post-graduate programmes.
The results of the degree colleges affiliated to Utkal University were published last evening. Sources in the university said the sale of forms would begin from June 17 at the State Bank of India counter on the university premises. Students can also download the admission forms from the university’s official website, www.utkal-university.org, from June 11. The admission process will be completed by the end of July. The last date for the purchase of forms is June 30. The cost of the application form has been fixed at Rs 150 while the entrance fee stands at Rs 200.
The university offers 27 post-graduate courses in arts, science and commerce streams while another 20 self-financing courses are also run on the campus. Classes are scheduled to begin from the first week of August.
On the other hand, for Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, there will be no counter sale of forms for admission into post-graduation. All forms will be sold online and were made available on the university website, www.ravenshawuniversity.ac.in, from May 20. The last date for online submission of forms is June 15. A student can also take a printout of the filled up form and send it by post on or before June 20.
The cost of the application form is Rs 160 for regular courses and Rs 400 for professional (self-financing) courses. The entrance examination will be conducted on three days — from June 25 to 27. The results are expected to be declared by the first week of July.
A total of 24 post-graduate subjects, including six self-financing ones, are being offered by Ravenshaw University. Out of the six courses, three are run by the university’s department — computer science by mathematics department, rural development by economics department and biotechnology by botany department.
The other three courses (journalism and mass communication, electronics and telecommunication, information technology and management) are being conducted on public-private partnership (PPP) mode.
