Bhubaneswar, Sept. 13: This month promises to be high on entertainment for all Odia film lovers with back-to-back releases.
While multi-starrer Om Sai Ram is set to hit theatres on Friday, yet another action-packed film Chanda Na Tume Tara is in the pipeline and will be ready for release this month.
The film has a mix of young actors and veterans in the cast and promises high-voltage action with a dash of romance and family drama.
Announced last year, Chanda Na Tume Tara is in the last phase of post-production and will be ready for screening within a week, said producer Chittaranjan Prusty.
“We took time on this project so that the film is made with care and the audience gets their money’s worth after watching the film,” said Prusty.
Young actor Deepak and Mumbai-based newcomer Prachi Sinha make the lead pair of the film, while heroine Debjani who was seen in the recent release, Rangila Toka, is also playing a major part.
To be released under the banner of DSO Movies, the film has been directed by debutant Ramesh Rout.
Though the focus of Chanda Na Tume Tara is action scenes, there are a lot of other elements in the story that will entertain the viewers.
“The film is partly based on family ties and there is also a romantic angle. Veteran actors such as Mihir Das and Aparajita as well as Meenaketan and Ajit Dash will be seen in important supporting roles. Popular Odia actor Manoj Mishra is also a part of our film,” said Rout.
For the action sequences, Deepak said he had to workout a lot and go through many sessions with physical instructors.
“My character demanded a well-built body for action scenes. Even though I am crazy about fitness and bodybuilding, I had toned down a little for my previous films. For Chanda Na Tume Tara I had to workout for a month to build the perfect physique,” he said.
Actress Debjani is excited about the film’s release.
“We had a great time working together and the entire crew was extremely friendly. We have worked hard and now that it is time for the film to release it feels nervous as well as exciting. I am glad that after the success of Rangila Toka I will be seen in another entertainer,” said Debjani.
Prem Anand has scored the music for the film.
