Twin cities high on CBSE results

Bhubaneswar, June 4: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the much-awaited Class X results for Bhubaneswar and Guwahati regions this morning. Schools in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack have performed well, with many of them achieving a 100 per cent success rate.

Although the results were available on the CBSE website (www.cbse.nic.in), several students visited their respective schools to celebrate their success with friends. The DAV Public School (Pokhariput), DAV Public School (Chandrasekharpur) and BJEM School (BJB Nagar) in the capital have recorded 100 per cent pass results. An overwhelming number of students have bagged the 10 cumulative grade point average (CGPA) or A1 grade.

Sources at the CBSE regional office here said around 22,000 candidates had appeared for the CBSE class X exams at 154 centres in the Bhubaneswar region, which includes Orissa, West Bengal and Chattisgarh. The break-up figure for the state would be made available within a couple of days.

Each school came up with lists of students who have secured high grades. As many as 63 students from DAV Pokhariput, 82 from DAV Chandrasekharpur and 23 from Delhi Public School (Kalinga) have got a CGPA of 10. Around 30 per cent students at the Sai International School here have got A1 grade.

In Cuttack, all 443 candidates of the DAV Public School (CDA) have cleared the exams, with 129 students securing A1 grade. The Kendriya Vidyalayas in the twin cities have also produced good results this year. All students of KV No.1 in Cuttack have successfully cleared the exam while 22 have bagged a CGPA of 10.
