Cuttack, Dec. 1: The crime branch will investigate into the circumstances that led twin brothers — Seikh Sabir and Seikh Sadiq — to immolate themselves in Balasore last month.

A three-member crime branch team led by deputy superintendent of police B.N. Dandapat has been formed to probe the incident.

The team has left for Balasore today and it will start investigating into the incident from tomorrow, said additional director general of police (crime branch) B.K. Sharma.

The crime branch probe was ordered after the family members of the deceased duo met director general of police Prakash Mishra here yesterday. Sabir and Sadiq had allegedly set themselves on fire on November 25 to evade arrest in connection with several cases registered against them.
