MPspeak

My five years as MP was satisfactory. I have managed to get ‘Navodaya Vidyalaya’ at Paikmal, mega water project in Bargarh municipal area and funds for the Mahulpali bridge that will connect Bargarh with Jharsuguda. Besides, I have sanctioned funds for a multi-speciality hospital at Jharsuguda. I also ensured a railway overbridge at Brajarajnagar and water supply project at Lamtibahal. I have undertaken several development works, including construction of roads, from MPLAD funds. A number of ambulances have been provided to various hospitals. In many villages, overhead water tanks have been constructed to ensure safe drinking water in rural areas. Under the National Rural Health Mission, I have commissioned several projects.

If re-elected

Rail line between Bargarh and Nuapada is long due. I will ensure that this dream is fulfilled. My other priority will be to ensure that all villages and households in my constituency are electrified. I will also fight to include drought-prone Padmapur block in the KBK region. Improvement of education will also be my focus area. My priority will be to improve irrigation facility in the district and ensure that the right to food scheme is properly implemented in my constituency. My emphasis will also be on developing communication in the district.

Voterspeak

No visible development has been done during his tenure. He has failed to take any step for the train communication between Bargarh and Nuapara, that we have been demanding for long. He has failed to check the migration of labourers from the Padmapur. He seldom visited the constituency after being elected.

Birendra Pradhan
Bargarh

The Congress MP has done nothing for Jharsuguda district. He has never raised his voice for providing employment to local people in the industrial units here. Most of the people in the constituency have never seen his face. We will not vote for him.

Rajiv Singh
