Bhubaneswar, Oct. 24: The suspended leader of the BJP, Ashok Sahu, today said he would fight to expose the wrongdoers in the state unit of the party.

Yesterday, the party suspended Sahu for ventilating his feelings on the Twitter.

Sahu today posted a letter on a social networking site. In his letter, Sahu stated: “Asking the party why Modi effect in Odisha is getting diluted and to introspect to examine defeat by wider margins in successive elections in Kandhamal, particularly when there is an increase in voting pattern in rest of Odisha cannot be said to be an instance of indiscipline. For this, whimsically I have been placed under suspension by the state president.”

However, two days before his suspension, Sahu had told The Telegraph, in an interview for the Hot Seat column, about the state of affairs of the BJP. Spokesperson for BJP Sameer Mohanty said: “Sahu has been violating the party discipline and going to media and social networking sites against the state leadership. So, the party has suspended him.

Making a frontal attack on the state leaders, Sahu said: “The front-ranking leaders of the party are responsible for the condition of the BJP in the state. Many corrupt former ministers of the party, be it Manmohan Samal, Samir Dey, Jaynarayan Mishra and state president K.V. Singh Deo, are responsible for the disastrous situation in the party.”

Union tribal affairs minister Jual Oram said: “The party leadership has not consulted with me before taking such a decision. I will discuss the issue with the central leadership.” While the state party president, K.V. Singh Deo, is yet to react, former minister Samal said: “Sahu should have declined to contest if he believed the state leadership is corrupt and there is no transparency in the party.”
