Sports enthusiasts take part in the Tata Steel Bhubaneswar Half Marathon on Sunday.

Around 3,200 people took part in the event that covered around 21.1km, beginning at Kalinga Stadium and passing through Khandagiri Square before culminating at the stadium.

Jhuma Khatun and Man Singh won in the female and male categories and received Rs 100,000 each. Sportspersons from the state, Anuradha Biswal and Shradhanjali Samantray, also took part in the run along with Odia actors Sabysachi Mishra and Archita Sahu.

Sunday was packed with activities with people taking part in Patha Utsav and Ekamra Walks. This week's Utsav at Janpath was dedicated to freedom fighters.

Jajpur's Jacson Dance Group staged performances dedicated to men and women who gave up their lives for India.

Volunteers from Pecuc organised an awareness drive with Swami Vivekananda's messages. There were other events such as painting workshops and magic shows. The heritage walk, on its fourth week, took a unique turn by including the famous Kotitirtheswar Lane close to the 7th century Parasurameswar Temple.

The event started with a violin and flute recital. Today, there were 45 participants, including senior citizens, kids and three girls from Mumbai. Four young men from Calcutta were also there to document the event after they found out about it on social media.
