CCTV footage shows the man in a helmet assaulting the woman
Bhubaneswar, Sept. 5: Police today started investigation into the case of assault on a 25-year-old woman outside her house on Water Tank Lane.
The incident took place in Saheed Nagar police limits early yesterday morning. Though the exact motive of the assault is yet to be clear, the police suspect stalking and unrequited love.
The cops have obtained footage of the incident captured through a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera installed in front of the house.
The victim, who works in a private firm in the city, said the man in a helmet tried grabbing her neck. 'I 'We are analysing the CCTV footage to get further clues,' said Bhoi.The police learnt that the victim had moved into this house a week ago. A police official said: 'She had also changed her job 10 days ago. We will ask the victim about her previous place of stay and previous job to ascertain whether anyone was stalking her and whether it could be a case of one-sided love affair.'
