Bhubaneswar, Dec. 2: Ever since Rangila Toka catapulted him into the league of big actors, comedian Tattwaprakash Satpathy, better known as Pappu Pom Pom, has emerged as a force to reckon with.

Not only he recently campaigned for the ruling political party in the municipal elections and then joined the BJD, he seems to be hell-bent on adding new feathers to his cap.

He will be wielding his pen while scripting Ame Ta Toka Sandha Marka, a comic drama that had its mahurat at Gurujang Dhabaleswar, Khurda on Sunday. The film will be the first production of Aditi movies and has been produced by Sangita Satpathy.

Cinematographer R.Vagvat Singh will be directing the film. Based on the life and times of warrior clan Paika Akhada of Khurda, the film stars Koyal Banarjee as the female lead. Veterans Mihir Das and Minaketan Das will be seen playing pivotal roles. Abhijit Majumdar has scored the music. The lyrics has been penned by duo Nizam and Nirmal. Deepak Jena has written the dialogues.

Even in the pre-independence era, the British used to be wary of the belligerent members of Paika Akhada, but in today’s time not much is talked about them.

The film will bring back the focus on the community and how they deal with crisis situations. “I have taken two months training to get into the skin of the character. The film is purely Odia in its feel and essence,” said Pappu.

Koyal Banarjee sounded ecstatic with her return to the big screen after one-and-a-half years. “I share a special rapport with Pappu. I have been given a dusky look in the film and I hope I do complete justice with my character,” said the actress who was last seen playing a city girl in Om Sai Ram.

Earlier rumours were doing rounds that actress Karishma Kapoor will be seen in the film that many felt was merely a publicity stunt.
