Bhubaneswar, Dec. 10: Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) authorities will take action against those responsible for question paper leak yesterday.
A question paper of the BTech third semester was found doing rounds on WhatsApp about 40 minutes before the exam. The authorities today held a meeting to trace out the leak.
BPUT vice-chancellor Shyam Sundar Pattnaik said the paper was leaked from one of the private colleges.
"The questions are sent to the colleges online one hour before the exam. Then four senior officials of the examination centre open the online papers with separate passwords given to them by the university. It was during this gap, that the question paper was leaked. There could be involvement of one of the centres in the leakage," he said.
"We have zeroed in on the server from where the paper was leaked and will be initiating action. Whosoever is involved in the leak will be punished," said the vice-chancellor.
The questions of back paper in communicative English for the first year BTech students were found doing rounds on WhatsApp.
While a committee has been formed to look into the matter, exam in all other papers will be conducted as usual, said the V-C. leading to the question paper leak<>. ABVP state secretary Avilash Panda said: "We suspect that the BPUT V-C and other college authorities are involved in a racket for their personal gain and this must be probed."
