PAKHALA PROTEST

Students of Biju Patnaik University of Technology stage a protest against the varsity. Ruing unemployment, the students on Thursday set up a tent at PMG Square in Bhubaneswar and offered pakhala (watered rice) at Rs 3 per bowl with side dishes such as fries and badi chura to commuters. “This is the only option left for us to do,” said one of the agitators. The protest also intended to mimic the Aahar scheme launched by the state government.
