Berhampur: Berhampur police have recovered 132 new mobile phone hand sets worth Rs 3 lakh from Badambadi bus stand in Cuttack. he phones were stolen while a consignment was on its way from Bhubaneswar to Berhampur in a private bus on April 19. The accused, however, managed to escape from the bus stand after keeping the stolen goods at a rest shed in the bus stand. ub-divisional police officer Basant Kumar Panigrahi said the handsets were meant for a mobile shop owner and sent by distributors at Bhubaneswar.

Surrender

Bhubaneswar: A woman Maoist cadre in Chandrapur surrendered before the Rayagada superintendent of police on Thursday. The cadre identified as Jyoti alias Bharati of Bissam Cuttack in Rayagada was working under Maoist leader Subhas. She alleged that she had been sexually harassed by senior Maoist leaders from Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.

Tiffin bomb

Bhubaneswar: Security forces found a tiffin bomb worth around 8 kilograms on a footpath on the Rengera-Topadehi road near a railway tunnel in Rourkela on Thursday. he security forces also recovered another empty tiffin can of about 20 litres and a Maoist uniform that was concealed on top of the tunnel.

Cash looted

Bhubaneswar: An employee of a private company on Thursday lodged a complaint with the Kharavela Nagar police that two unidentified goons took away cash of Rs 4.5 lakh from him at gunpoint on Wednesday while he was going to deposit the cash in a bank.
