Tourist dead Sunstroke Three killed Body found Arrest

Tourist dead

Puri: A tourist died after drowning in Narendrapokhari here on Saturday afternoon. The incident took place prior to the beginning of chapa khela. The local police have not been able to identify the deceased yet. The police are investigating into the circumstances under which the tourist fell into the pond.

Sunstroke

Bhubaneswar: The state government on Friday confirmed 10 sunstroke deaths. Of these three have taken place in Mayurbhanj, said an official at the special relief commissioner's office here. The official said the office has so far received 37 reports of sunstroke deaths.

Three killed

Balangir: Three persons were killed and 20 injured when a mini truck rammed into a tractor on Saturday afternoon. The injured have been admitted to the district hospital for treatment. Bodies of the victims have been identified and sent for post-mortem.

Body found

Bhubaneswar: The decomposed body of a 75- year-old man was recovered from Cuttack-Puri bypass road at Janaki Nagar within Saheed Nagar police limits on Saturday evening. The deceased was identified as Paduka Nayak of Bankual village.

Arrest

Cuttack: An assistant sub- inspector of police (ASI) of Sadar police station was caught red-handed by the vigilance police on Saturday while he was taking bribe from a person to a bail bond. The anti-corruption officials seized cash worth Rs 2,000 from the ASI following a trap and arrested him.
