Liquor shop ransack
Balangir: A group of women ransacked a liquor shop and torched bars to protest against the illegal liquor sale near the railway station here on Monday, sparking tensions in the town. According to reports, the women, armed with lathis and brooms, broke into the liquor shop in the morning, destroyed all the bottles and torched the shop. They followed this up by ransacking two other bars, breaking the grilles and furniture, while police remained a mute spectator throughout the incident..
Boy beaten
Dhenkanal: A minor boy was allegedly beaten by villagers at Jiridimali within Kamakhyanagar police limits after he was caught stealing from a shop on Monday. Sources said the villagers complained of theft from a shop near Jiridimali Chhak on Saturday night.

Malkangiri: Former Maoists Raghu Madakami and Radha tied the knot here on Sunday as they embarked on a new life and embraced the mainstream. Malkangiri police helped the couple after they expressed their will to get married and be a part of mainstream society. The couple got married in the presence of district superintendent of police Jagmohan Meena and family members from both sides.
Clash
Puri: Two Kanwariyas and five police personnel were injured in a clash between the two groups at Lokanath Temple in Puri on Monday. The condition of one Kanwariya is said to be critical and he has been admitted to Puri Hospital. According to sources, the Kanwariyas had a confrontation with temple servitors over pouring water on the temple Shiv Linga.

Balangir: State co-ordinator of the BJP’s Skill India campaign, Hitesh Sahu, has courted controversy after his wife levelled charges of polygamy against him and lodged a police complaint here. Sahu is absconding, said police sources. “I found his photo with another woman on Facebook. I lodged a complaint with the police when I came to know that he had married another woman secretly,” said Rasmita Sahu, the complainant.
