Oram on IIM site

Sambalpur: Union tribal affairs minister Jual Oram has said the proposed Indian Institute of Management (IIM) should be established in west Odisha. Oram, who was in Sambalpur on Thursday, said the site selection for the 
institution depends on the state government.

Jumbo census

Bhubaneswar: Amid extreme heat wave conditions, the elephant census, which started on Tuesday, concluded on Thursday. The census was carried out in 44 wildlife divisions across the state. Around 6,000 persons including forest officials, members of NGOs, wildlife activists and students took part in the entire exercise.

Water protest

Berhampur: Residents of Bedabandha Sahi in Gosaninuagaon area under Berhampur Municipal Corporation limits on Thursday put up a road blockade in protest against the locality facing serious a water crisis. The protesters relented after the authorities assured to take action. 

Handicrafts

Bhubaneswar: A handloom and handicraft policy will be drafted within a month’s time said chief minister Naveen Patnaik at a review meeting of the textile, handloom and handicrafts department. He also announced that the revival of dying co-operative societies and a textile park  would also be fast-tracked.

Admission

Bhubaneswar: The process of e-admission to all junior colleges will begin from June 8. The last date for applying online is June 22 and the last date of submitting the applications offline will be June 23.
The first section list will be published on July 1.
