Rajas notice

Bhubaneswar: The Directorate of Medical Education and Training on Friday issued a notification for the relocation of Sardar Rajas Medical College students to other medical colleges in the state. While 55 students would be relocated to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, 54 others would be accommodated at VSS Institute of Medical Science and Research, Burla. 

The online registration, application and choice-locking would be conducted between 10am and 5pm on December 15-16.

Bail denied

Bhubaneswar: Khurda district judge and sessions court on Thursday rejected the interim bail plea of Mayurbhanj MP Ramchandra Hansdah. The MP was keen to attend the ongoing winter session of the Parliament. Hansdah is currently lodged in jail for his alleged links with Naba Diganta Capital Services Limited. 

Forgery cuffs

Bhubaneswar: Khurda police on Thursday arrested five persons who withdrew Rs 16.64 lakh by a fraud cheque by impersonating the signature of the Khurda block development officer, Santanu Kumar Mohanty on November 21.Police said the five accused faked the signature of Mohanty to withdraw the money from the local area development fund of the MLA. Police said the accused are involved in many cases of forgery.
