Cuttack: Mahanadi Banchao Andolan, a regional outfit, is all set to organise a stage dharna in front of the Parliament from August 8 to 12. “All political parties in the state have assured full support to the issue,” Mahanadi Banchao Andolan’s convenor Sudarshan Das said.

Fraud arrest

Balasore: Police arrested Bandhan Financial Services chief Devi Prasad Maharana from Cuttack on Sunday. The deposit-collection company had provided an incorrect mobile number and fake identity proof which made it difficult for the cops to nab the company chief and other officials, said a police official. Maharana pleaded innocence and said he was implicated in a false case.

Two drown

Balasore: Two girls, Sashmita Muduli, 12, and her younger sister Sujata Muduli, 10, drowned while taking bath in a pond on the backyard of their house in Mugakani village in Rajnagar police station in Kendrapara district 
on Sunday.
