
Children’s Day
Loyola School, Bhubaneswar, celebrated its annual Children’s Day Fete amid fanfare. There were 16 food and 39 games kiosks in the festival. School principal Victor Misquith with rector Gilbert Menezes inaugurated the day’s event. The day was a big hit with 7,000 people, including students and parents, thronging the event. The atmosphere was electric as students, all dressed for the cause, added to the merriment. Various musical bands and live performances by students were major attractions. K .Arush Kumar was the winner of the bumper prize and bagged a gift worth Rs 2,900.
News event
A news presentation competition was organised among senior secondary students of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, in order to acquaint them with the latest trends of news presentation and as a career option in future. Experts from the field guided them to make it a challenging career with proper style and manner of presentation. Srujani Routray, Anwesh Mishra, Poonam Patnaik bagged the top three prizes and Saswat Das and Sailaxmi Kamila were declared special winners.
Exhibition
A grand exhibition, “Kidzania — The Magical World”, was organised at DAV Public School, Unit-VIII where students of classes III to V displayed their creative, scientific and aesthetic talents and vision and dimension through various projects and working models. Pages from books came alive through the exhibition.
The programme was inaugurated by DAV Public School managing committee chairman Madan Mohan Panda and principal Bhagyabati Nayak and school co-ordinator Mamta Banerjee.
Sports meet
DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, won the athletics championship with four gold, four silver and two bronze models in the recently concluded DAV Zonal Sports Meet at Dr A.N. Khosla DAV Public School, Rourkela. More than 50 DAV Public Schools of both Zone- I and Zone - II took part in the meet
Annual Day
ODM Public School celebrated the annual function of its pre-primary wing on Tuesday at its Patia campus. The event, “Dazzling Disney”, was presided over by founder-chairman of ODM Educational Group S. Minaketan and attended by noted actor and theatre personality Ajit Das as the chief guest. The celebrations coincided with the commemoration of the birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru. A colourful cultural event was presented. The food fiesta, in which the children enjoyed foods prepared by their classmates, was an attraction.
