Bhubaneswar, Oct. 3: Nature lovers took part in a camp at Satkosia Tiger Reserve in Angul district on October 1 and 2 to experience life in eco-friendly dwellings.

About 40 people from diverse backgrounds took part in the event. The participants included entrepreneurs, kids and corporate employees. Twenty tents were set up on the river bed where participants resided under the open sky.

'It was a great opportunity to unwind ourselves. Enjoying comedy shows, music and madness in nature's lap was super fun,' said a participant.

The objective of the expedition was to create awareness about various ecological and environmental issues and promote tourism. The campers took part in trekking at the nearby hill. A campfire was lit and the participants indulged in tribal dance and music.

'Life in the city is fast. I relaxed and listened to good music and enjoyed comedy shows at the camp,' said Arabinda Sahu, an entrepreneur.

Prativa Ghosh, who is a writer, felt the best part of the camp was meeting new people and making friends. The event is organised by Satkosia Sands Resort and Mahanadi Wildlife Division. Located on the banks of the Mahanadi, the resort facilitates a panoramic view of 14-mile Satkosia gorge.

'We assist local residents in sustaining livelihood by involving them in the day-to-day operations at the resort. They also work as storytellers and guides, ' said divisional forest officer Mahanadi Wildlife Division Anshu Pragyan Das.

'We will hold similar camps and organise many activities, including sports and boating,' he added.
