JEE admit cards to be available online

Bhubaneswar, March 5: Candidates appearing for the JEE (Mains) 2014 can download their hall (admission) tickets from March 10.

About 49, 834 students from Odisha have registered for the entrance, which is the qualifying test for admissions into engineering colleges across various centrally funded technical institutes including IITs, NITs and state engineering institutes.

“All the candidates, who submitted their application forms successfully on the JEE (Mains) website can download their admit cards from the official portal — www.jeemain.nic.in — from 10 March 2014 onwards,” said A.S. Verma, CBSE regional director, Bhubaneswar region.

The entrance will be held in both online and offline mode. While the offline exam of JEE (Mains) is scheduled on April 6, 2014, while the online test would be held between April 9 and April 19, 2014.

The offline exams will be held across various exam centres in Bhubaneswar, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Balasore, Berhampur, Cuttack, Jeypore, Kalahandi, and Bhawanipatna.

“Students have been designated exam centres according to their choice while registering online,” said Verma adding that candidates must verify their signature, photo and other details on the admit card, and email at jeemain@nic.in, in case of an error.

The examinees attempting the pen-and-paper based and the computer-based examination have been asked to submit a hard copy of their Class XII qualifying mark sheet, on the day of the exam, to the invigilator at the centre before the beginning of the exam.

“Candidates having completed their Class XII examinations can submit their mark sheet and those attempting for Class XII improvement exam can also submit their improvement exam admit card and previous mark sheet.

Before submitting the copy of the Class XII qualifying examination documents, candidates must write their roll number on the document being submitted to the invigilator,” a CBSE official said.

The candidates aspiring for a seat in undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs, NITs and other centrally funded institutions will have to appear the JEE (Advanced), scheduled on May 25. Odisha along with Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Nagaland joined JEE (Mains) system this year.
