Balangir: Police on Sunday zeroed in on the name of the sender of a parcel that killed a groom and his grandmother on Friday in Patnagarh.

The person has been identified as R.K. Sharma and the parcel was sent from Raipur through Skyking courier.

Two teams of police are investigating the case and one of the teams is following the case in Raipur.

The police are now trying to reach R.K. Sharma. However, it is possible that the name of the sender is fake. "We are now trying to reach the sender of the parcel. But it is possible the name of the sender is fake because no one who sends a bomb in a parcel would give their real name," said a police official.

Rabindra Kumar Sahu, the deceased's father, has appealed to chief minister Naveen Pattnaik to conduct a CBI inquiry into the incident.

"I have appealed to the chief minister for a CBI inquiry into the tragedy that has ravaged my family," he said.

Reema Sahu, widow of Soumya Sekhar Sahu, was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital on Sunday morning. She has been admitted in the plastic surgery ward of the hospital.

Reema's brother Rakesh Sahu said: "Neither our family nor of the family of my deceased brother-in-law had any past enmity with anyone. It is beyond my understanding who did this and why."
